Better Than You Think.

The underrated, the unfairly dismissed and the flops that were right all along: Heckle makes the case for comedy everyone else wrote off.

3 pieces
  1. MacGruber Made $9 Million and Died in Theaters. It Was the Funniest Thing Will Forte Ever Did

A movie based on a 90-second SNL sketch lasted three weeks in theaters in 2010. Eleven years later it came back as a TV show. A thing that refuses to die is either a zombie or a classic.
  2. Wet Hot American Summer Made $292,000 and Got a 39%. It Was a Masterpiece Anyway

In 2001, critics hated it, theaters barely played it, and Roger Ebert panned it in verse. Then the cast became famous, and the joke turned out to be on everybody else.
  3. Hot Rod Was a Failure, and So Was Every Prophet in His Own Hometown

Critics gave Andy Samberg's 2007 stuntman comedy a 39 percent. The public stayed home. History, which is slower than critics but more honest, has other ideas.
